Microsoft shows off IPTV plans, partners

 [HD Beat] A system-on-a-chip developed with Sigma Designs specifically intended to support all IPTV edition features and lower cost so that it can be included in set top boxes, TV's, DVD players and gaming consoles.I don't think this nearly answers the question of where the Media Center Edition platform's future lies, but Microsoft is clearly doing everything they can to make sure they have their devices at the heart of your digital entertainment center of the future.

TiVo no longer accepting orders?

[Digital Tech Life] According to RealTechNews.com, Tivo is no longer accepting orders for their popular DVR units. It's rumored that the company TiVo uses for sales duties has closed its doors, surprising workers of the company and TiVo.

TiVo Confirms Service Officially Available in Canada

[Gadget News] Essentially what TiVo is suggesting is that Canadian's purchase a TiVo box in the US then simply import it into Canada and take advantage of the Canadian guide data which TiVo can provide. From TiVo's point of view this is a no lose, they cover the cost of the guide data via the subscription and they don't have any marketing costs at all in Canada.

SA8000HD & SA8300HD Overviews

[HDBlog.net] The other day Rogers called me up to tell me that my SA8300HD PVR wasn’t working properly. I told them that it was working fine, but they asked that I tune to channel 100, a VOD (Video On Demand) channel.
