PVRLib > Apple to license TiVo DVR technology for iTV?
[ Gadgetell] Last fall when Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced plans to launch iTV by Q1 2007, it wasnt very clear what direction they would go with it. Would they simply use it as a wireless set-top-box that streams content from your iTunes collection to your TV?

[Oreillynet.com] Why I Won't Buy an Apple iTV (or whatever it's going to be called ...: If Apple were to do this right, the result would be a piece of software that would turn any Mac into a complete media/home theater center which would replace nearly all of the hardware (and software) that people collect to deal with multimedia (VCRs, DVD players/recorders, standalone audio hardware of all kinds etc). You could take a single Mac, plug it in to an LCD display or DLP and an audio power amp (or receiver) and with no other hardware replace all of the standalone hardware previously used for entertainment of all kinds.
