[Random Commands] With new shows starting to pop up onto the television screen, I’ve been perusing the fall schedule.
Some related posts from Technorati and Google.
The search for RELLevance: With tough games against Bama, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia all in a row, as well as a season finale in Tallahassee (not to mention some sleeper games in Southern Miss and Central Florida), the Gators should win the SEC East, but not get to play for the whole thing. [Begging to Differ] GETTING LOST: If, like me, you have an interested in the interactions between science, religion and the paranormal, then I recommend this article from Wired News, "Ac Academia Embraces Spooky Studies." The article focuses on a couple of recent studies aimed at discovering the nature of the afterlife, and contains the following hook: "At two of America's best universities, [University of Virginia and University of Arizona] professors and doctors are studying the existence of the soul, near-death experiences and reincarnation." These sorts of academic studies really aren't all that unusual, however. Not mentioned in the article are Duke University Medical Center's "prayer studies" and the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research laboratory (a fancy and euphemistic way of saying that Princeton University is engaged in parapsychology research.)
