PVRLib > HDTV switches on confusion
[TV Snob.com - TV on DVD, LCD TV, Plasma, HDTV, DVD, DLP, TV Shows, Portable TVS, Flat CRT, PSP, & Portable Video Devices - News] I've yet to see an HDTV say - this is exactly what you'll need to get through the next 5 years and not be unhappy. A standard would be great instead of all the different crap you need to wade through.

[Blogmaverick.com] HDTV, DVD, Hard Drives and the future - Blog Maverick - www ...: Sometimes I'll compress programs, but the compression programs are generally buggy, the resulting quality is usually not very good (especially when viewed on a good HDTV monitor), and it takes hours just to compress a few programs--which is why I bother to compress only those few programs that I hope to watch on my laptop on an airplane, where optimal video and sound aren't required. Since my Dell can't handle more than 4 internal harddrives, I've started attaching external harddrives via USB2 and firewire.

Also - we often forget that it's not just the picture - but the sound as well.
