[TV Squad] I'll be the first to admit that devices such as Tivo and DVRs are really nice, especially when you find yourself writing about television on a daily basis. However, it also seems like the viewing experience, as it becomes more convenient, has also become unnecessarily complicated.

[Homepage.mac.com] Troy Stephens' homepage: To enable each widget to connect to your DVR, you specify the TiVo's network adapter's IP address, and a magic identifier/passcode called the TiVo's “Media Access Key”. The former will change from time to time if your TiVo is set to have a dynamically assigned IP (as is the case by default on most home networks nowadays), requiring you to periodically update the address you gave to the widget to keep the connection working.
