PVRLib > Reborn Mac mini set to take over the living room

sjarvis.com[sjarvis.com] Think Secret has a story today (Road to Expo: Reborn Mac mini set to take over the living room) about rumors of Apple launching a set-top Mac mini at Apple Expo next month. I’ve been waiting to upgrade my ailing 1st generation TiVo and ailing DVD player, and now it looks like maybe Apple will finally release the thing I’ve been waiting on.

They say that the ESRB, the game industry's self-imposed rating board, is giving age-appropriate ratings to games but completely failing to enforce them.

Although the Remote is also available as a separate product (to allow you to control your iPod via the new Universal iPod Dock), the Front Row/Remote partnership turns the new iMac into a formidable “home media center”—a device for watching videos and DVDs, listening to music, and viewing photos.

A DIY television network if you will, supplanting the network-supported dribble with genuine content created by the masses for the masses.

[Tomkeays.com] Tom Keays :: Blog :: Apple's New Mac Mini: I've been pretty impressed with what I've heard and read about the new Mac Mini, Apple's new entry-level "headless" computer. There has been quite a bit of speculation on the TidBITS Talk listserv (93 postings as I write this) that it is being marketed at disgruntled Windows users, especially those who, by purchasing an iPod, have become familiar with Apple.

[Shaunshull.com] Shaun Shull Blog » Blog Archive » Mac Mini Load Balancing and Tivo: Apple has really outdone themself with the new mac mini, a $500 G4 powerhouse all in an itty bitty box. Obviously targeted to tackle the average price sensitive PC consumer this box packs a pretty solid punch bundling in software such as iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and Garage Band.
