Tivo is becoming the new gatekeeper

[P2P Blog] More troubling is the fact that Tivo uses it’s Tivocast feature to sign up TV studios as content partners. Tivo tested this feature with Rocketboom - and it was revolutionary: For the first time you could subscribe to a video podcast and watch it on your livingroom TV without even touching your PC.

Speakables for TV - free voice control for Mac-based PVRs

http://www.tuaw.com [The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)] I don't currently use any of the Mac-based PVRs because I enjoy lounging on the couch (aka the Veg Zone) to watch TV and I have no desire to connect my Macs to my television, but I will admit that I find the idea of being able to turn on Seinfeld just by screaming "Serenity now!" quite appealing!

Live TV anywhere

http://www.tvsquad.com [TV Squad] I'll be the first to admit that devices such as Tivo and DVRs are really nice, especially when you find yourself writing about television on a daily basis.
